Joel Sievert is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Texas Tech University. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Georgia. His research focuses on American political institutions with an emphasis on the presidency, congressional politics and elections, political parties, and institutional development. He has published articles in journals such as the Journal of Politics, Legislative Studies Quarterly, and Political Research Quarterly and two book, Electoral Incentives in Congress and Nationalized Politics.
